"How to Get Away With Murder" season 3 may see Annalise Keating (Viola Davis) resigning from being a law school professor.

In an interview with TV Line, executive producer Pete Nowalk said that anything could happen in the third installment of the hit ABC series.

After all, "How to Get Away With Murder" is a show that doesn't really have a concrete formula.

With this, it's possible that Annalise may resign from being a professor to pursue a different job or she may also stick to her current profession and focus on the member of the Keating Five.

Meanwhile, Nowalk also responded to rumors that a slew of new student characters will be introduced on "How to Get Away With Murder" season 3.

According to him, he's also open to the possibility, but he's a bit doubtful that the new students will be able to develop a very close relationship with Annalise just like Wes, Connor, Laurel, Michaela and Asher.

"I'm open to that, but I also don't see how any new students could be as intimately involved in Annalise's life as these five have. Also, there's no formula to this show. Does Annalise want to continue being a professor? Does the school still want her there? Do the Keating Five want to stay in school? All valid questions. I just don't it to feel like we're making a show that's got a formula: 'Here's a new crop of students, and they're going to murder someone else!' Yes, the show is outrageous and we do over-the-top things, but these existing characters are bonded for life!" he said.

In other news, "How to Get Away With Murder" season 3 will premiere on ABC no September 24.

As of late, it is still unclear whether or not season 3 will kick off where season 2 ended.

In the fall finale episode, it was revealed that Wes' dad Wallace Mahoney is dead. It has also been unveiled that Caleb was the one who killed his and Catherine's parents.

Additionally, the premiere episode for the season will confirm whether or not Connor decided to transfer to a different law school.
