Kanye West arrives in Manila early April 9 to perform at the Paradise International Music Festival. Yeezus will be singing with other foreign artists and local artists including Wiz Khalifa, 4th Impact and Austin Mahone.
According to Rappler, West will be performing a full set at the festival, which will be a mix of tracks from his new album, "The Life of Pablo," as well as some of his classic tracks. Yeezus has also reportedly came up with new merch to commemorate his Philippines show. Joe Perez, art director for DONDA, has recently shared one of the shirt designs, showing the date and location of the Paradise International Music Festival written in West's trademark The Life of Pablo font.
Since the festival organizers announced West's arrival in Manila early December, fans of the "Gold Digger" singer have tweeted non-stop, eagerly awaiting for his first "concert" in the Philippines.
Meanwhile, on his official Twitter page, Yeezus thanked all his fans for making "The Life of Pablo" the number 1 album in the world. The album was first released last February 14 and was only originally available via streaming on Tidal and his website, following his Saturday Night Live appearance.
"I also wanted to point out that it's the first album to go number 1 off of streaming!!!" he tweeted.
West shared that he was incredibly happy with the reception from his followers, adding that he is also currently prepping for a "The Life of Pablo" world tour.
According to Hot New Hiphop, West's seventh solo full-length album sold over 90,000 copies, mostly combining streams from Apple Music, Spotify and Tidal. This number is particularly impressive given that it was illegally downloaded through several torrent websites more than 500,000 times.
In its first 10 days of release, "The Life of Pablo" was reportedly streamed over 250 million times. West's album was exclusively available on Tidal for six weeks before he finally agreed to stream it on Spotify and Apple Music.
"The Life of Pablo" is currently available for sale as a digital download on Tidal and West's store. Insiders close to West claim that the rapper had no plans of releasing it to digital retailers, such as the iTunes Store.
