"Produce 101's" girl group I.O.I released a new version of its "Crush" MV after member Yu Yunjung received harsh comments from netizens saying that she is stealing the spotlight from other members of the group.
I.O.I has 11 members and it is understandable that some girls will stand out than the rest. However, Yu Yunjung may have picked the wrong way to be more famous when she reportedly tried to steal the spotlight in the previous "Crush" MV.
Based on the GIFs made by netizens collec, it shows that the young star is very excited during filming. In one of the clips, it showed that Yunjung shoved Kim Sejong aside to be the center of attention, while it is obvious that it is not intentional and the girls are simply having fun in the video.
Harsh comments started appearing on the comments section of the YouTube video saying that Yunjung is greedy on the screen time and she should know her limits. However, others mentioned that Yu Yunjung compensated for other girls who are too quiet or not enthusiastic in the video.
In the past episode of "Produce 101," similar problem was raised when Yunjung teamed up with Music K trainee and Kim Soo Hyun half sister Kim Juna. In the position evaluation, the two powerful singers in the show ended up on the same team. The team had problems picking the main vocal as members want Kim Juna to be the main vocalist, but Yu Yunjung felt like she should be chosen. Due to the incident, Yunjung said that she lost confidence on her skills as a singer.
Since I.O.I's producers are the public, the agency handling the girls succumbed to the pressure and released a new version of the behind-the-scenes video. Yunjung plays an important part in the group being the main vocal of I.O.I.
