The Hallyu actor Song Joong Ki will now endorse for a local cosmetic brand. On April 12, Tuesday, his agency, Blossom Entertainment, revealed that the actor has signed with Forencos cosmetics.
The 30-year-old Hallyu star was picked by the cosmetics brand for his image of perfection and congeniality built through his lead character role in KBS2 hit TV drama series, "Descendants of the Sun," adding that it consummately suits the brand's image, K-Pop Herald has learned.
The South Korean Forencos' cosmetic seemingly expects that the top Korean actor will spur the brand's operations at home and abroad. The cosmetic company is confident that having Song as its new face could eventually make inroads into local duty-free shops and foreign cosmetic markets of 10 different countries, including China and the United States.
"We are going to actively promote in Korea as well as overseas with Song Joong Ki, who has captured the hearts of women worldwide," All K-Pop quoted the representative from Forencos as saying.
The South Korean actor also made a remark that reads, "I am going to work harder to show a better image, as now I am the model of a cosmetics brand." Song is currently having a high in his career, as his on-going melodrama series, "Descendants of the Sun," remains in the number 1 spot in the national TV rating game with more than 2.2 billion viewers across the globe.
The actor has gotten a lot of love from his role, Army Captain Yoo Si Jin aka Big Boss of the Alpha Special Forces, in the mega-hit drama. The series takes after the love story of Captain Yoo and surgeon Dr. Kang Mo-Yeon (Song Hye Kyo), who were both stationed in an anecdotal war-torn nation of Urk due to the United Nation's request.
Due to his unwavering popularity, it has been reported that Song will be holding a "Fan Meeting Tour" in Asia, organized by his agency along with HS E&C and CN Bless. The tour is scheduled to kick off in Seoul, South Korea on April 17 and will be followed on May 14 in Beijing, where the Hallyu star hopes to meet his international Chinese fans.
