Team Cap members joined “Captain America: Civil War” director Joe Russo in promoting the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe flick in China.
According to China.org, Chris Evans, who plays Steve Rogers a.k.a. Captain America, together with Sebastian Stan (Bucky Barnes a.k.a. the Winter Soldier) and Anthony Mackie (Falcon), promoted "Civil War" to Beijing moviegoers.
"Anyone who didn't raise hands to support Team Cap, you are dead men now," Evans joked during the event held on Tuesday.
At the time, the team showed off 40 minutes worth of action-packed footages from the film that highlighted Marvel's light-hearted version of the friendly neighborhood superhero, Spider-Man, played by Tom Holland.
The film, which sets off from the events of the "Avengers: Age of Ultron," premiered on April 12 in Los Angeles and will be shown in Chinese theaters beginning May 6, 2016.
MKM Partners analyst Eric Handler told Variety that "Civil War" will definitely open big with an estimated opening day sales of about $175 million to $180 million thanks to the constant online reports on the film.
"It's tough to predict any movie getting above $200 million, but this one has a shot. They have two weeks of good buzz to build on and the marketing machine behind this is going to be huge," he said.
According to the outlet, the forecast earnings of the film become firmer by the second because of the fans' increasing awareness of the movie and an even higher interest at the plot.
Based on official synopsis from the Marvel website, "Captain America: Civil War" will pit hero against hero when two of the Avengers' members, Steve Rogers (Evans) and Tony Stark a.k.a. Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), disagree on whether or not hero activity should be regulated by the government.
The film also stars Scarlett Johansson, Emily VanCamp, Don Cheadle, Jeremy Renner, Chadwick Boseman, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Bettany, Paul Rudd, William Hurt, Daniel Bruhl, and Frank Grillo.
