“19 Kids and Counting” alum Joy-Anna Duggar refuses to follow in her sisters’ footsteps. After turning 18 years old, the reality star has reportedly been under immense pressure to get married. She, however, believed that there is definitely more to life than just being a wife and mother.
According to The Stir, the Duggar sisters, along with their sister-in-law Anna Duggar, have been constantly asking Joy-Anna about the qualities she is looking for in a partner. When Josh's wife point blank asked her once again in the latest episode of "Jill & Jessa: Counting On," Anna just made a face, clearly uncomfortable with the question.
Since she turned 18, Joy-Anna anticipated that she would be asked countless of questions about courtship and marriage. Her older sister, Jana, 26, was previously the one fielding these types of inquiries but it seems like the Duggars were now more curious of Joy-Anna's dating life.
The outlet pointed out that the Duggar sisters should take it easy on Joy-Anna. Eighteen is actually still pretty young, maybe not by Duggar standards, but perhaps they should give Joy-Anna a bit more time to explore and meet a few guys before settling down.
In other news, The Hollywood Gossip previously dubbed Joy-Anna as the "new Jana." The outlet observed that Joy-Anna has become the focal point of "Jill & Jessa: Counting On."
"What's not to love about Joy-Anna? She's smart. She's well-rounded. She can dead lift her own weight. She wears shorts (yes, shorts)!"
Joy-Anna also has been one of the firsts to forgive Josh after the scandal became public. In spite of what happened between them, she continued to remain optimistic and even had the heart to sympathize with Ana. During one of the episodes, she captured the heart of the audience when she broke down after Anna shared her experience visiting Josh in rehab.
Joy-Anna also did not hesitate in lending a helping hand towards Anna while Josh was in therapy. Many reports claim that fans of the Duggar family were particularly impressed with how she is handling the situation, adding that she has been a positive influence to the viewers.
"Jill & Jessa: Counting On" airs Tuesdays on TLC.
