A scanned page for Boruto manga series has already been released last week, giving fans a first look at the art style for the upcoming Naruto Spin-off. The manga series, which focuses on the adventure of the 7th Hokage's son Boruto and the new generation of Shinobis after the events of Boruto: Naruto the Movie, is scheduled to debut on May 9 while succeeding chapters will be published monthly on Shonen Jump.
Naruto creator Masashi Kishimoto will still be involved in the project, but no longer as the illustrator of the series. The title now belongs to his assistant Mikio Ikomoto, so any changes in art style and character designs are very much anticipated in this upcoming series.
But by simply looking on the teaser page of the series, it's easy to tell Ikomoto made drastic changes on some of the characters, including Sasuke and his daughter Sarada. In Boruto: Naruto the movie, Sasuke had his long straight hair covered his left eye (the one with a Rinnegan). In the Boruto series on the other hand, the Uchiha still sports a long hair but it curls towards the tip, partly concealing his Rinnegan.
As for Sarada, she isn't anymore wearing the sleeveless outfit she had during the chunin exam. Let's just say her fashion sense has matured a bit that she's now rocking a scarlet one-piece dress with black ribbon tied around his neck.
Another scene I am personally looking forward to read is sparring session between Boruto and Mitsuki. After reading Kishimoto's 45-game one-shot manga, we now know that Orochimaru's son is too advanced for his sage as he can already activate a perfect sage mode with ease. However, it would be interesting how Boruto, armed with a never say die attitude and new technique (rasengan), would fair against a prodigy like Mitsuki.
Circle the date May 9, 2016, the day new generations of shinobi will take over the Naruto world.
