"Captain America: Civil War" directors Joe and Anthony Russo revealed a specific reason why the web slinger is on Team Iron Man in the movie. They said Tony Stark recruited Spider-Man for the Avengers' sake.
In the movie the Avengers are separated into two teams: Team Iron Man and Team Cap. Spider-Man eventually sides with Stark's team for a specific reason. He was tasked to monitor the Avengers' activities, according to Metro UK.
The directors also talked about Spider-Man's appearance in "Captain America: Civil War" during the London premiere on Tuesday. They further explained that perhaps Stark decided to recruit Spider-Man, because he believes he is recruiting one of the most powerful individuals in the Marvel universe.
Joe and Anthony also praised Tom Holland's acting skills at the premiere. The young actor certainly impressed the directors with his portrayal of Peter Parker and Spider-Man. They said the British star definitely appeared with a bang in the film and he did an amazing job portraying the superhero.
Moreover, the 19-year-old Holland likewise received compliments from his "Captain America: Civil War" co-star Robert Downey Jr. The 51-year-old actor, who plays Iron Man, only had good things to say about the British star at the premiere. He said Holland is definitely something else. Downey also echoed what the Russo brothers said about how the young actor "came on with a bang"' in the movie.
This is not the first time the Iron Man star raved about the Spider-Man actor. He told Jimmy Kimmel in the video below that Holland is fantastic at his job. He also admitted that he likes the actor's personality.
It is a good thing that Downey finds Holland's personality pleasing, especially since they will be working on another film again together. The veteran actor will star opposite Holland in the new Spider-Man film, which is now officially called "Spider-Man: Homecoming."
Details to Iron Man's appearance in "Spider-Man: Homecoming" are still scarce. However, one scene in the movie supposedly involves him visiting Peter Parker at his Aunt May's (Marissa Tomei) house. According to the Hollywood Reporter, this scene was previewed at the CinemaCon, after Sony Pictures Chairman Tom Rothman and Holland revealed the title on stage.
