Espanyol is currently at the 15th spot of the Spanish top flight table, only five points above the bottom three relegation area now held by Sporting Gijon, Getafe, and Levante, with only three games left in their campaign this term. If they will not be able to win any of their last three matches, then they could be a candidate for demotion to the Segunda Division next season.

In their most recent La Liga game, Los Periquitos were crushed by middling team Las Palmas, 0-4, at the Estadio Gran Canaria on April 22nd, via SkySports.

Four different players from Los Amarillos scored a goal each in the lopsided match, namely winger Nabil El Zhar, midfielder Jonathan Viera, defender Pedro Bigas, and winger Wakaso Mubarak at the 45th+1, 49th, 56th, and 75th minutes respectively.

The loss extended Espanyol's winless slide to five games.

Meanwhile, Sevilla blanked another middling club Real Betis, 2-0, at their home field of Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán Stadium last Sunday, as reported by ESPN.

After being held in a scoreless first half, French striker Kevin Gameiro scored the opening goal of the game for head coach Unai Emery's squad at the 67th before substitute defender Coke doubled the lead ten minutes before the full time whistle.

The win finally snapped Los Rojiblancos' five-game winless streak. The team's last victory in La Liga was back in the middle of March against Villarreal, 4-2.

The Sevillistas currently holds the last Europa League qualifying berth at the seventh spot in the league table. Eight-placed team Valencia is eight points behind with three games left in both squad's current campaign. A victory in this match versus Espanyol will ensure Sevilla of the Europa League slot next season.

The predicted result is a 1-0 win for Sevilla.
