HP (NASDAQ: HPQ) has recently unveiled their new Chromebook 13 which features an all-metal design and powered by Intel Core M that puts it on par with other high-end laptops available in the market.

The HP Chromebook 13 is powered by the Intel's sixth-generation Core M processor, which also happens to be found in the recent MacBook models from Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL). However, the new laptop holds more features and capabilities that meets the eye.

Display

One of the highlights of the new laptop from HP and Google (NASDAQ: GOOG) is its 13.3-inch display. It has a pixel resolution of 3200 x 1800 for an impressive pixel density of around 276 ppi. HP even claims that it has 5.76 million pixels on the screen.

If that is not enough for the user, the HP Chromebook 13 could also be connected to two HD monitors. This is done through the new USB-C dock that also allows the connection of a full-sized keyboard and an Ethernet jack, according to Techno Buffalo.

Processor and RAM

Customers can choose from different 6th Generation Intel Core M processors to power up the HP Chromebook 13. They can also opt for an Intel Core m5 processor.

The 16GB RAM also does not disappoint. It can keep up with the user's multitasking needs such as keeping multiple tabs open or running several other applications in the background without experiencing lags in performance or hang ups.

Battery

HP claims that their Chromebook 13 can reach up to 11.5 hours in battery life under standard usage. It also supports fast-charging through a USB Type-C connector which will be convenient for those who are always on the go.

Portability

Speaking of which, the laptop only weighs 2.86 pounds. This would make it easier for students, professors and other professionals to bring it with them while travelling as it is also sized at just 12.99mm thin.

Pricing

All of the HP Chromebook 13 models start at $499, according to The Verge. If users want the more powerful Intel Core M model, they would have to shell out $599.

The price of the new laptop from HP and Google sits right in the middle of the range. However, the specs seem to be pretty astonishing for its price tag.

Customers who want to buy the HP Chromebook 13 will have to wait until next month. They will be shipped sometime in June.
