Avid fans of the much-awaited remake from Square Enix's classic adventure video game "Final Fantasy VII" now have something to smile about since more information is surfacing online. Latest reports reveal that the upcoming remake will be launched episodically and a bundled version of the game will hit the market in 2019.
In an interview with Game Informer, Square Enix producer Yoshinori Kitase said that the video game developers on his team have finally come to a consensus about the number of episodes that the upcoming remake will have. However, the producer indicated that his development team is ready to make changes concerning the planned episodic release of "Final Fantasy 7 Remake." In case the team's plan comes to fruition, players should expect to see an episodic style of the release of the upcoming remake similar to other titles in "Final Fantasy franchise.
Kitase said, "We do have an idea on the project side in terms of how many installments it may consist of, but unfortunately, we can't share that at the moment. Of course, as we're creating and developing the scenario and the stories, these are things that move in real time. So, the plan may change along the way."
Furthermore, Kitase added during the interview that the development team is yet to agree on the way the gameplay of "Final Fantasy 7 Remake" should be implemented. It is not clear whether the upcoming game will be a full action style, but the director of the game, Tetsuya Nomura, pointed out that the action style has already been explored before with "Dissidia" - a game featuring a more modern action style.
Previous reports indicated that the upcoming remake will first release globally in 2017, and the next episodes will come out in 2018. However, as aforementioned, the game developer will unveil a bundled version of "Final Fantasy 7 Remake" in 2019.
Square Enix is also set to release further details about the remake during the upcoming Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2016 in June, according to iDigital Times. Fans should also expect to receive information regarding other video games like "Final Fantasy XV" and "Deus Ex: Mankind Divided" during the same event.
