Samsung Galaxy Note 6 has not been officially announced yet but rumors and speculations about the next phablet have surfaced, including a larger 5.8-inch screen and a 256GB internal storage capacity.
Besides the Galaxy S8, fans of Samsung (NASDAQ: SSNLF) are also waiting for the Galaxy Note 6. Fortunately, there have been leaked information regarding the upcoming variants of the smartphones.
The newest leaked specs come from a Chines Weibo microblogging site. It was revealed that the Galaxy Note 6 could feature a large 5.8-inch screen with a pixel resolution of 2560 x 1440 which is the same as its predecessor with 2K or QuadHD screens.
With a much larger screen, the new phablet could have a slightly lower pixel density. The current model has 518 ppi.
Another leaked spec is that the Samsung Galaxy Note 6 could sport a massive internal storage capacity of 256GB, according to News Everyday. One of the phones with a close-enough capacity is the ASUS Zenfone 2 line with one variant holding 128GB.
It is not known whether the phone would still support expandable storage. The internal storage capacity is more than enough to hold both the operating system of the phone and other media files the user may want to store.
Just like the recently released Galaxy S7, the Galaxy Note 6 and the Galaxy S8 could also feature IP68 dust and water resistance. Of course, the design of the next phone could be similar to the Galaxy Note 5 with a few minor upgrades in the physical form due to the larger screen.
Another anticipated feature is the Iris eye scanner that can be featured in the Galaxy Note 6, according to GottabeMobile. It would allow users to unlock the phone simply by looking at it and it could be safer than using a pin or a password lock.
Powering the new phablet could be a Samsung Exynos octa-core processor for the Asian market. The version for the United States could feature the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 823 chipset.
Both variants of the phone would also feature 6GB of RAM which is massive by today's standards. It will also run the upcoming Android 7.0 N version.
Samsung is also reportedly working on a new camera sensor for the Galaxy Note 6 and the Galaxy Note 8, according to KnowYourMobile. The phones might feature laser and hybrid autofocus capabilities with apertures lower than f/2.0.
Ultimately, the new camera setup could mean that the phones would feature 18MP or 24MP for the rear. AN aperture of f/1.4 is also anticipated for better image quality even in low-light situations.
Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy Note 6 in the early part of 2017. Hopefully, the South Korean tech giant would confirm the larger screen and internal storage capacity.
