Android Lollipop 5.0 has been completed in October and started to come out on selected smart phones in the market today. Sprint is one of a few to release the latest Samsung Galaxy S5 with Android Lollipop 5.0 operating system. Samsung and HTC One have the latest Android OS since Thursday, and Best Buy Store is offering users an upgrade on S5 devices whether it is available on their mobile network, IB Times reported.
The Sprint's Samsung Galaxy S5 Lollipop update weighs in at 898.44MB and will release the device with software version G900PVPU1AOA6. A 3GB storage capacity will be needed to upgrade the OS to Lollipop 5.0, the internal storage will be affected however and drop to only 950MB.
The Lollipop upgrade will include new features like lock screen alerts and heads-up notifications, according to Phone Dog.
HTC One (M7) is also receiving the Lollipop update with a few bug fixes. Android users will be able to do the update once they receive a notice on their devices, or simply access Settings > About > Software Update to see if an update is available.
The update came out on Thursday for the HTC One (M7), and the HTC One (M8) will also be receiving its Android 5.0 update on Feb. 13, and LG G3 should be receiving its same update on Feb. 16.
Sprint Galaxy S5 users have reportedly been receiving the Android 5.0 updates from their handsets. Other S5 users can also access Settings > More > About Device > Software Update to see if an update is available.
