South Korean superstar Lee Minho is apparently not satisfied with the number of male fans he has. It is now his target to increase that number.
"I don't have many male fans," Lee admitted in a recent interview with the Korean news outlet joins.com, as cited by KDramaStars. "The dramas I've done so far are not really for guys. I think most men would enjoy "Gangnam Blues."
Lee is set to appear in the upcoming film "Gangnam 1970," which is about childhood friends Jong-dae and Yong-ki's struggle to survive poverty during the height of political corruption in Gangnam in Seoul, South Korea in the 1970s.
Directed by Ha Yoo, "Gangnam 1970" stars Kim Ji-su with Lee as Jong-dae and Kim Rae-won as Yong-ki.
Known for his role in the TV show "Boys Over Flowers," Lee said in an interview with Asia One Entertainment in 2014 he does not think it is a matter of living up to the success of the said drama.
The 27-year-old South Korean actor explained there is a "maximum of two to three productions that an actor or actress can be involved in a year" in the South Korean entertainment industry.
"Given the constraints, we really want to make the most out of the opportunities that we're given. We really want to do well and it's not only a matter of success," he added.
In "Gangnam 1970," Lee plays a man who gets caught up in the power struggles during the real estate craze in Gangnam in the 1970s, when the said district in Seoul was still under development and political powers and darker organizations are in conflict.
