China's Xiaomi Company has just launched its Xiaomi Mi Max giant phone, which amazingly fits in a pocket despite its 6.44-inch size. This is because of its slim dimension which stands at only 7.5 mm, allowing the user to easily slip the massive phone in their pocket.
The phone's edges are curved with the phone itself embracing a 2.D glass surface and a Mi logo etching at its back, Engadget has learned. The curved edges are some of its other forte of its easy pocket accommodation.
Mi Max represents the largest display that Xiaomi has launched to date. Featuring a 6.44-inch Full-HD display with a resolution of 1080×1920 pixels, the device will be available in three variants, stretching from 3GB RAM and 32GB of storage to 4GB of RAM and 128GB.
Budget-minded fans are also lucky due to the friendly prices of all the Mi Max variants. The snapdragon 652 variant with 64GB of internal storage and 3GB of RAM will go for $260 while the one with 128GB of internal storage and 4GB of RAM will cost $306.
The Mi Max with a Snapdragon 650, 3GB of RAM, and 32GB internal storage will be available at $229. However, if customers are to order any Mi Max variant from China, they will have to pay extra shipping costs.
Besides the display and the pricing, another top feature of Xiaomi Mi Max is its large battery capacity. The device houses a 4850mAh battery, which is the biggest of all the others that the company has launched to date. According to Gadgets 360, Mi Max's battery can support up to 14 hours of streaming video on a single charge.
Other superior specs include a 16-Megapixel high-resolution rear camera with 5-lens setup and a large f/2.0 aperture, a 5-Megapixel front camera, a fingerprint sensor, and infrared emitter. The infrared emitter is a handy feature as it allows Mi Max to be used as a universal remote controller.
Xiaomi Mi Max will launch on May 17 in China. Since Xiaomi has not ventured into the United States market, there is no official release date for it there.
