"How to Get Away With Murder" season 3 will confirm whether or not Wallace Mahoney (Adam Arkin) is Wes Gibbins' (Alfred Enoch) real father.
In the finale episode for season 2, Annalise Keating (Viola Davis) told Wes that his father and Wallace is one and the same person.
Even though he no longer trusts his professor, Wes somehow believed that what Annalise told him was the truth.
With this, Wes went in search for his father, and he eventually saw him just before he was killed right in front of his very eyes.
The shocking cliffhanger was designed by executive producer Pete Nowalk to stretch Wes and Wallace's storylines and true relationship.
Now that Wallace is dead, it would become even more difficult for Wes to find out whether or not he was his real father. All the latter could do is research more information about him.
Wallace's death and the person responsible for killing him will also be named in the upcoming third season of the hit ABC series.
After all, the show is mainly about murders and season 3 will be focused on Wallace's shocking demise.
While speaking with Variety, Nowalk said that they are still contemplating on whether or not to reveal Wallace's killer at the beginning of the season.
"There are two options for me - it's either in the first minute in the show, or that's a longer mystery because it's a more complicated story," he said.
Meanwhile, according to iDigital Times, it is also possible that Wes will reach out to Wallace's other son Charles (Wilson Bethel).
The character was first introduced during the second half of season 2. He also became one of Annalise's clients, and the lead character tried to defend his and his family's reputation.
However, Annalise was conflicted when she discovered that Wes' mom knew exactly what Charles did. At that time, the former tried to convince the latter to also protect Charles. Unfortunately, Wes' mom refused and this is how her life was also put at risk.
"How to Get Away With Murder" season 3 will premiere on ABC in September.
