While Square Enix announced last year that it would be releasing "Final Fantasy 7 Remake," there was no specific information on when the game will come out. Some gamers expect that the remake will be released during the upcoming Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2016, but the latest rumors point towards a 2017 launch.
The recent earnings presentation from the game developer revealed several titles to be released in 2016, according to VideoGamer. The listed titles include "World of Final Fantasy," "Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue," and the PS4 version of "Rise of the Tomb Raider." "Final Fantasy 7 Remake" is missing in the list.
The game developer has issued a statement that the slide presentation is not a complete line-up of titles to be launched in 2016. Since gamers have been clamoring for the release of the remake, it was expected that Square Enix should include the game in the list.
As a result, there is likelihood that the game will still be launched during the imminent E3 2016. However, fans should wait for an official statement from the company on whether the game will come out this year.
Meanwhile, Square Enix producer Yoshinori Kitase confirmed that the game would be released in episodes. According to him, each episode will be a full-scale game as opposed to parts of a bigger game.
In an interview with Game Informer, the producer said, "It will essentially be a full scale game for each part of the multi-part series [...] if we're just looking at each of these parts; one part should be on par with the scale of one Final Fantasy XIII game."
Based on the producer's statement, when the first episode finally comes out, fans will still go on numerous contents before laying their hand on the next episode. A lot of confusion has surrounded the release of "Final Fantasy 7 Remake." The initial announcement that the game will be released in episodes worried fans because they fear it will be like buying a burger with just a bun.
Notably, the long awaited "Final Fantasy 7 Remake" will be separated in three episodes. More reports indicate that the developer company might launch a bundle version with all the episodes and possible updates for the game.
