While Regina continues to mourn the death of her beloved Robin Hood, Henry thinks the Evil Queen may return. He attempts to destroy magic but causes more chaos instead. Towards the end, fans got a glimpse of the return of the Evil Queen at The Dragon's shop and the upcoming battle.
While it is too soon to expect synopsis for "Once Upon a Time" (OUAT) Season 6 episode 1, it is expected that the show will pick up from where it left in Season 5 finale and explore some stories of the characters belonging to the mysterious land of untold stories. Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, showrunner Edward Kitsis teased what to expect in Season 6 and what does the Untold Story means.
"An untold story means it hasn't been finished yet. And it's been pushed pause on. Similar to when we met our characters in Storybrooke, they had untold stories, because many of them still had to find their happiness," Kitsis explained.
Even before Season 5 finale aired, a major teaser for Season 6 storyline was revealed. "Once Upon a Time" (OUAT) co-creator Adam Horowitz and Kitsis revealed that the two new characters, Jacob, an evil warden of a mental institution and a meek patient he torments, will play a pivotal role in the season finale and upcoming Season 6.
"Sam and Hank play characters who play a pivotal role in the season finale," EP Adam Horowitz told Entertainment Weekly. "Where they're from, who they are, and what they're doing does tee up an element of what we're doing for season 6. It's more like opening a door, rather than introducing the whole of what season 6 will be. Hopefully, we're giving you a little taste of what's to come," he added.
In addition, actress Lana Parrilla, who plays the role of Regina/Evil Queen told Hollywood Life what's next for Hook, Zelena, Emma and other Heroes in "Once Upon a Time" (OUAT) Season 6. After entering the new world, the characters will encounter "new characters and some new villains."
So when is "Once Upon a Time" (OUAT) Season 6 episode 1 premiering? While the official airdate is yet to be announced, speculations are running rampant.
Considering the schedule of the previous seasons, "Once Upon a Time" (OUAT) Season 6 episode 1 is expected to go on air in late September or early October on ABC.
