Fans must brace themselves for an intense finale. According to Spoiler TV's description for "Chicago P.D." Season 3 episode 23 "Start Digging," the team will work on a complicated murder case. Things take an unexpected turn and get personal when the team discovers that Sergeant Voight's son might be associated to the murder victim.
More spoilers for the finale suggest that the murdered victim was in constant touch with Voight's son Justin. The woman's body was discovered in her car. She happens to be a widow and a single mother. She is said to be associated to Justin, who recently came out of a reform institute.
As the team delves deeper, they discover a shocking truth. They find out that Justin has been attacked by the murderer in the same manner and he is critically injured. While the team rushes to save Justin, Antonio has no doubts that Voight has revenge on his mind.
In addition, Roman will find himself in a situation which forces him to take make some hard decisions. At the same time, Commander Crowley has new ideas to bring changes in the police department. Will these changes make everyone in department happy?

Meanwhile, "Chicago P.D." actress Marina Squerciati, who plays the role of Burgess, teased jaw-dropping finale that will put everyone to a test in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. "It is so terrifying and so different and it's going to change the show," said Squerciati. "It's such a dramatic, crazy ending. I cannot speak highly of it enough. It's really going to test everyone in the unit. It's so exciting. I can't wait for people to see it."
