The number spray-painted on the bolted wooden door in the photo is the address of Eminem's childhood home in Detroit. The bungalow-style house was demolished by the State of Michigan on Nov. 20, 2013, which was 13 days after it was damaged by fire whose cause was unknown, MLive reported.
In her autobiography titled "My Son Marshall, My Son Eminem: Setting the Record Straight on My Life as Eminem's Mother," Eminem's mother Debbie Nelson said she saved as much as she could to buy the house on a land contract. She revealed that the down payment was $3000.
The same part of the house shown in the photo is on the cover of "The Marshall Mathers LP," Eminem's third studio album released on May 23, 2000. A more recent photo of the house was used on the cover of "The Marshall Mathers LP II," the sequel album and the eighth studio album of the Detroit rapper released on Nov. 5, 2013.
Among the 16 tracks of the "The Marshall Mathers LP II" album are four collaboration songs namely "A-----e" featuring Skylar Grey, "Headlights" featuring Nate Ruess, "Love Game" featuring Kendrick Lamar and "The Monster" featuring Rihanna. Watch the music video of "The Monster" here:
