Kim Mathers recently revealed that the reason behind her sealed DUI case in Macomb, Michigan, was a suicide attempt. She is the former wife of Detroit rapper Marshall Mathers II< who is professionally known as Eminem.
In an interview with Detroit morning show "Mojo in the Morning" on Channel 955, Kim cleared the rumors of the DUI case in October 2015 at the intersection of 23 Mile and Card Rd. in Macomb. She said, "I did this on purpose and I'm so sorry."
According to Kim, she never lied to first responders as she told them everything that she did. She explained that she apologized, admitted that it was intentional and did not expect to make it out alive.
Many witnesses saw Eminem's ex-wife, who is currently getting profession help, when she was driving a black Escalade and smashed into a ditch. She hit a utility pole, landed upside down and was trapped inside.
Three months after the DUI case, Kim's twin sister Dawn Marie Scott died. On Jan. 19, Scott was found unresponsive in a trailer park after an apparent drug overdose, Detroit News reported.
Kim and Eminem started their on-and-off relationship in 1989. Their only biological child, Hailie Jade Scott Mathers, was born on Dec. 25, 1995.
The two met in high school and married and divorced twice. They got married in 1999, divorced in 2001 and remarried in January 2006 but Eminem filed for divorce in April 2006.
Eminem was 15 while Kim and Dawn were 13 when the twin sisters had run away from home. They moved in with Eminem and his mother.
In 1998, Eminem recorded a song called "Kim," which reflects intense anger and hatred toward Kim. The song was released on May 23, 2000, as one of the songs in his third studio album "The Marshall Mathers LP."
"Kim" is not the only Eminem song that mentioned Kim. The other songs by the Detroit rapper that has his ex-wife in the lyrics are "97 Bonnie and Clyde," 'Sing for the Moment," "Till I Collapse," "Soldier," "Hailie's Song," Say Goodbye to Hollywood" and "Mockingbird."
