Fans of Marshall Mathers III, who is professionally known as Eminem, were surprised by a recent report that he is moving to California. The Detroit rapper supposedly said that he is tired of living in Los Angeles.
It turned out that the news from Daily News 11 is just another internet hoax. The publication claimed to have interviewed the "Rap God" rapper and quoted him as saying. "I'm just tired of the L.A. lifestyle and I feel like, at this point in my life, I'd rather just live in a place full of real, genuine people."
The publication went to claim that Eminem said that over the years, he had been to Santa Rosa, California, several times and the people there were real and genuine. In addition, the rapper was quoted as saying that he was not retiring and he was just looking for a change in life, which he had found in Santa Rosa, California.
However, the same quote appears in several other articles recently almost word-for-word claiming that famous actors and musicians are planning to relocate to some remote area to escape from the madness, according to Phoenix New Times. Some of these artists were Lady Gaga, Maroon 5 singer Adam Levine and Pink.
There were also reports claiming that Eminem was relocating to Arkansas, Florida, Maryland, Massachusetts, South Carolina and Texas. However, the Detroit rapper has yet to confirm where exactly he is residing nowadays.
Eminem was born in St. Joseph, Missouri, on Oct. 17, 1972. The only child of Marshall Bruce Mathers, Jr. and Deborah Rae Nelson, the "Rap God" rapper is of German, English, Swiss and Scottish descent.
Before they separated, Eminem's parents were in a band playing in Ramada Inns along the Dakotas-Montana border. His father then moved to California leaving the family.
When Eminem was 11, he and his mother settled in Warren, Michigan, and spent much of his youth in Detroit, particularly in a lower-middle-class neighborhood that is primarily African-American. He was 14 when he started rapping with his high-school friend Mike Ruby.
