Rockstar's parent company, Take Two Interactive, announced that the studio is set to unveil two new games at the highly anticipated Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2016. It is said that one of these game would be the much awaited sequel to "Red Dead Redemption."

The announcement came after Rockstar's latest earning report, wherein Take Two disclosed that the studio is working hard on prepping up to the soon-to-be-released game titles. Take Two Interactive's announcement led fans to think that one of those games will be the much awaited "Red Dead Redemption's" sequel - "Red Dead Redemption 2."

Rumors about the release of "Red Dead Redemption 2" started in 2015, though no firm detailed information has been released for the game, as all are mere speculations from fans who are waiting for the open-world Western action-adventure video game title.

The only somewhat credible information about "Red Dead Redemption 2" was the leaked map of the game. According to Gamespot, insiders confirmed that the leaked maps and the maps' lineup that was shown in April for "Red Dead Redemption 2" were legit.

On the other hand, rumor has it that "Red Dead Redemption 2" is expected to be a prequel and not a sequel. In addition, based on the leaked map, the location of the game has been shifted, wherein it will allow players to explore an area that lies to the east of the map in the original game.

If "Red Dead Redemption 2" will be unveiled at E3 2016, it is highly likely that the game will be officially hit the shelves Q1 2017.

Meanwhile, Take Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick also confirmed during the an interview with Express UK the success of Rockstar's "Grand Theft Auto Online," as the company profited $218.3 million for the year, which is a slight fall from the previous year's $219.2 million.

Furthermore, during Take Two's earnings call, the company noted that its fourth quarter garnered most of its revenues from games titles "Grand Theft Auto V," "GTA Online," "NBA 2K16," "XCOM 2," and "WWE 2K16." Moreover, their digital sources' revenue increased 12 percent to $226.6 million.

With that said, it is expected that there will be a 75/25 revenue split between 2K Games and Rockstar Games for the current fiscal year.
