Xbox Two may be coming out in the near future. While Microsoft has yet to confirm the rumored release of an upgraded version of their Xbox One, CEO for Xbox Phil Spencer has confirmed that the company will soon be launching a higher version of the gaming device.
According to CounselHeal, the CEO states that he does not want the new device to be called Xbox 1.5, but rather Xbox Two instead. The report states that the new gaming console will be quite a contender for its rival Sony, who is planning to release their upgraded version of the PlayStation 4. Along with the already rumored 4K resolution and its backwards compatibility capabilities, the Xbox Two is rumored to support Virtual Reality gaming. The new console will also be incorporating a new GPU, which will make it quite a contender for the PlayStation.
Furthermore, Xbox Two will incorporate more of a PC feel to it, as rumors have previously pointed out that the new console would have a Windows 10 format. The report also stated that Xbox Two could be also be fitted to work side-by-side with HoloLens. Under the hood, it is speculated that Microsoft's new gaming device will be using an AMD chipset, which could mean that Xbox Two could opt to remove their disk drives and have a bigger hard drive instead.
There is no official report on when Microsoft would be unveiling their new gaming console, but it is already speculated that the Xbox Two could be making an appearance at this year's E3. It was also pointed out that the company has already gone through lengths to file with the Federal Communications Commission, which further solidifies claims that the upgraded console will be out in the market in the near future.
Microsoft has yet to confirm any news about Xbox Two.
Meanwhile, earlier this month, Sony was quick to point out that they are not releasing another PlayStation 5 when rumors surfaced of an Xbox Two. The company, however, has confirmed that they will be releasing an upgraded version of their PlayStation 4.
