After witnessing the murder of his beloved father Henry at the hands of his enemy Zoom, Barry seeks revenge. "The Flash" Season 2 finale will see Barry and Zoom in an ultimate showdown. So, when the show returns, it is expected to deal with the consequences of the fallout between the two.
The storyline of "The Flash" Season 3 episode 1 will be decided by the events of the Season 2 finale. In an interview with Comicbook.com, Gustin assured that the fan-favourite superhero will continue to maintain his optimistic attitude and he will not let the recent events impact him.
Barry's "whole perspective on life is to constantly move forward with his life, and let his past be a part of it, but stay optimistic and kind of live your life," Gustin said.
"He lost his mom at a young age, he saw her right in front of him, then went back in time and watched it again... he'll find a way to deal with this. He's not going to let it ruin him. It's going to be hard to come back from this one, but he'll stay optimistic Barry," he added.
In addition, the executive producer Andrew Kreisberg teased what to expect in "The Flash Season 3. Speaking to Collider, the EP revealed that the show might introduce Caitlin's mother in the forthcoming instalments.
"We haven't met Caitlin's mother yet," he told the publication. "We got a little talk between the two women, which will probably play out in Season 3."
So when will "The Flash" Season 3 premiere? Considering previous two seasons' schedules, the show is expected to go on air in October 2016. However, this is a mere speculation. The network is yet to announce the official airdate. Meanwhile, CW has announced its fall schedule and "The Flash" will continue to air on Tuesdays at 8:00 pm.
