It was just in March when the hit MTV supernatural drama series, "Teen Wolf," completed its fifth season. With the series renewed for a sixth season, which is rumored to be released sometime in 2017, new reports are saying that Dylan O'Brien, who plays the role of Stiles Stilinski, has not confirmed in reprising his role in "Teen Wolf" Season 6.
According to Mirror, the possible absence of the actor in "Teen Wolf" Season 6 is not because he does not want to reprise his role, but merely due to health issues. It can be remembered that O'Brien was reported to suffer injuries while filming the third installment of the "Maze Runner" franchise.
It is said that the actor still needs extra time to heal and recover from the injuries he suffered on the set, which was then confirmed by the actor's publicist Jenifer Allen. Allen said that O'Brien's injuries are quite serious, and that he should rest for a period of time in order to quickly recover. However, the director of the film, Wes Ball, contradicted, wherein he claimed that O'Brien is fine, and should be able to return filming in a couple of weeks.
On the other hand, according to Bustle, there were past rumors that O'Brien may want to leave the series although the same publication clarified that there is no confirmation yet if O'Brien is indeed leaving "Teen Wolf" Season 6, or whether he would be recast after his recovery.
Meanwhile, in regards to the plot of "Teen Wolf" Season 6, speculations arise that the storyline of the next season may feature Scott McCall, played by Tyler Posey, having a trip abroad just to cover Stiles' possible loss in the series.
As of the moment, MTV has no official announcement yet in relation to the specific release date of "Teen Wolf" Season 6, although it was initially reported that the sixth installment will possibly premiere in 2017.
