YG fans are on the edge of their seats when the South Korean giant label announced that its new girl group debut will finally happen - after seven years!
Following the departure of 2NE1's maknae Going Minzy from YG Entertainment, YG is now faced with the ordeal of not having its official girl group.
With the absence of a flagship girl group, YG reportedly will push the "Pink Punk" debut. For many months, YG fans are on the edge of their seats waiting for the label to introduce a new girl group. The company teased on its trainees via reality shows and, ads, and music videos.
However, there are whispers claiming that the YG girl group debut will be delayed as the trainees will join a reality show in order to create a hype before the girl's debut. YG is notorious for delaying its artists' debuts and comebacks to ensure that it will be successful. Moreover, Winner and iKON were debuted after a survival program.
YG just unveiled the first member of the new girl group - Jennie Kim, who was featured in one of G-Dragon's song "That XX".
While there is no official lineup revealed yet, speculations are rife that the group will include Kim Jisoo appeared in various endorsements with iKON. Moon Sua appeared in the second season of "Unpretty Rapstar," and Lisa who is the face of YG clothing line Nonagon. It is still unknown how many girls will join the group.
It is expected that the girls will battle it out with the new generation of girl groups such as Twice, GFriend, and I.O.I.
