A specific airtime has finally been revealed for 2PM's Taecyeon and Kim So Hyun's new tvN drama "Let's Fight, Ghost." It was given a Monday-Tuesday time slot and will premiere on July 11 at 10:00 P.M. KST.
The upcoming gripping TV thriller is the latest project from screenwriter Kim Ji Sun of 2006's hit romance-drama called "Smile Again." It is based on Im In-Seu's popular webcomic, "Ssawoja Gwishina." The webcomic was published from June 4, 2007, to November 2015 on Naver TV and accumulated more than 700 million views as of this writing.
"Let's Fight, Ghost", also referred to as "Hey Ghost, Let's Fight" or "Bring It On, Ghost," tells the romantic tale of a phantom and a living high school student, who has the ability to see spirits. Kim has been cast to play the female lead, Kim Hyun-Ji, a 19-year-old student who unexpectedly died in an accident the day before her college entrance exam.
After meandering the world for quite a long while, Hyun Ji then meets the exorcist Park Bong Pal (Taecyeon). The two shortly form a close bond, as they perform exorcisms together and helps ghosts pass into the afterlife.
With television director Park Joon Hwa at the helm, it was reported that the filming for the drama will commence later this month. The drama is expected to highlight the elements of horror, romance, and comedy all in one.
On May 18, "Let's Fight, Ghost" held its first script reading at the CJ E&M Center in Sangam-dong, Seoul, South Korea. The main cast members Kim, Taecyeon, Kwon Yool, Kang Ki Young, and Kim Sang Ho attended the script reading, according to Asian Wiki.
Apart from that, actor David Lee has also been cast to play the meticulous scholar-student named Kim In-Rang, the vice president of a mystery club known as Ghost Net and is being praised for his astounding intelligence-gathering skills, Drama Beans has learned. Further, In-Rang will reportedly be Bong Pal's sidekick.
"Let's Fight, Ghost" marks Kim and Taecyeon's come back to the television screen since wrapping up with KBS2's "Assembly and "Who Are You: School 2015," respectively. The first episode is slated to air in July after "Another Miss Oh" ends its run. More details about the drama will be revealed soon.
