The Undertaker has not appeared on WWE television since winning a Hell in a Cell Match at WrestleMania 32 against Shane McMahon. According to the latest rumors, The Undertaker is unhappy with WWE chairman Vince McMahon and he has rejected a return at SummerSlam.
The WWE had a very interesting story between Shane and Vince towards WrestleMania with Shane-O-Mac trying to get full control of Monday Night Raw. His father made a stipulation that he needs to defeat The Undertaker at WrestleMania to get what he wants.
On the other hand, Vince told The Deadman that if he does not defeat Shane, he will never wrestle at the Grandest Stage of Them All ever again. It was a simple story but was must-see television up until the results were known.
Shane ended up losing to The Undertaker but he was still put in charge of Raw for a month which did not make any sense. According to Daily Wrestling News, there is a rift between the WWE chairman and his most loyal superstar.
The Undertaker is not returning the calls from Vince and their relationship is reportedly deteriorating. The tension between the two started when the 51-year-old was asked to put Shane over at WrestleMania 32.
The rumors of the rift may be connected to The Undertaker's absence at the post-WrestleMania European tour. He was advertised for the events but was subsequently pulled out days before the tour started.
According to What Culture, there were speculations that The Undertaker quietly announced his retirement from wrestling when he took off his MMA gloves and left them in the middle of the ring. That gesture is what most fighters do when they decide to retire and The Undertaker is known as an avid MMA fan.
However, these are all just speculations at the moment and nothing has been confirmed. It should be noted that The Undertaker is one of the greatest creations of the WWE chairman and a rumored rift is just a bump in their relationship.
The surefire WWE Hall of Famer started his career in 1991 and he established himself as one of the greatest superstars of all-time. He also has a WrestleMania record of 23-1 with his lone loss suffered at the hands of Brock Lesnar two years ago.
