The Duggar family is reportedly starting to get desperate, even launching a social media campaign in order to save their new reality show, “19 Kids and Counting” spinoff, “Jill & Jessa: Counting On.” It seems, however, that their efforts are not paying off, as their hashtag #BringtheDuggarsBack did not trend on either Twitter or Facebook.
According to The Hollywood Gossip, the Duggars have enlisted their fans to help save "Jill & Jessa: Counting On." They claimed that it was Jim Bob and his kids who orchestrated the whole thing, pointing out that the average fan is probably not even aware that the series is facing cancellation.
It's been more than a month since its season finale aired, yet TLC continues to remain mum on the show's fate. Several outlets predicted that it was only a matter of time before the network announces its cancellation.
While "Jill & Jessa: Counting On," performed quite well in the ratings game, the outlet pointed out that advertisers pulling their support left and right, is clearly not a good sign for the series. Following Josh Duggar's scandal, one by one, major brands started to withdraw their ads from the show. At one point, fifteen advertisers demanded that the network pull out their content from the series.
Perhaps this decision came from the backlash they received from fans, who were enraged that some companies were enabling the Duggars to stay on air. Several brands claimed that they were unaware that their commercials were airing during the "Jill & Jessa: Counting On" timeslot. They also demanded TLC to take their ads down immediately.
Although there are still quite a few who wanted to follow the Duggar family's journey, many were upset at TLC for green lighting the "19 Kids and Counting" spinoff. While the network promised fans that Josh will not be part of "Jill & Jessa: Counting On," it seems that many were still less than thrilled. Will all these things going against the series, the outlet predicted that it will eventually be cancelled only after one season.
"Industry insiders believe the network may have reached the decision that the Duggars are simply not worth the hassle."
