"Neverwinter" will be coming to the PlayStation 4 in summer and it will have all nine expansions from the PC version and one more coming soon. Players will not need to subscribe to PlayStation Plus to play it.
Perfect World Entertainment communications manager Alex Monney said on the official blog of PlayStation, that their massive multiplayer online RPG will be coming to the PS4 this summer. The PC version of the game was launched almost three years ago, and many players have already explored the game thoroughly. He added that the game will have all nine expansions from the PC version, and there will be another one coming soon.
According to Gamespot, the perk of the players being on the Sony side is they will not need the PS Plus subscription to play the game. They can just log into the game, create a character, and join their fellow players in an adventure. The Xbox One version of this game needs the Xbox Live Gold subscription to play.
This free-to-play MMORPG is located in the Forgotten Realms, where players can explore a world that has a basis from the "Dungeons and Dragons" franchise. Monney promised that when the game arrives on the PS4, it will have all of the existing content that the PC version had, even the eight playable classes. He also added that aside from the new expansion coming soon, there will be new content coming too for players to enjoy.
Players new to the series will be expecting fights against Tiamats, Demogorgons, Orcus, Valindra, and many more monsters that are from the franchise's world. They will be able to travel through popular destinations of this world like the Icewind Dale and the Underdark. They can also team up with characters from the novels like Drizzt Do 'Urden.
The game company also said in a statement that the PS4 edition of the game will be optimized for the Dual Shock 4 controller to make it easier to navigate. Players can also use the DS4's touchpad to communicate with other players and for a party chat.
In other news, the game company also announced that the 10th expansion of the game will be called the Storm King's Thunder. PC players will be able to enjoy this expansion in August, while Xbox One and PS4 players will have to wait for a later date.
