Doom 2016 has been confirmed to contain an evil Easter egg inside their soundtrack as the music "Cyberdemon" was shown to have satanic images hidden in the audio waves.
Many parents and sensitive non-video gamers are already offended by what Doom 2016 offers for players but the developers behind it does not seem to mind. The spectrogram images of the soundtrack show several pentagrams and even the number 666, which is often referred to as the devil's digits.
The satanic content is not really surprising at all for those who are familiar with the video game franchise. Players are pitted against demons and devils trying to kill them with all sorts of violent weaponry and gore.
Music composer Mick Gordon has teased earlier that the sinister images in Doom 2016's soundtrack are indeed true, Engadget has learned. Even the first video game titles of Doom had already offended parents and religious people because of the imagery present in the franchise.
That did not stop players from loving the first person shooter. It was also one of the games that pushed the genre even further which led to the Half-Life series, Counter Strike, Call of Duty, Battlefield and the countless other FPS games available.
Doom 2016 player and fan TomButcher used an audio editing program on the "Cyberdemon" track to show the visual frequencies or the spectrogram, Gamenguide reported. Adobe Audition could be used to find the pentagrams and the 666 images in the music file.
Haters of the franchise have called the creators of the game as Satanists or followers of Satan. However, it should be noted that the content of their creation was just simply cut out from their imagination.
Inserting images in audio tracks is not something new. There are several software tools that allow the user to insert icons into their music files.
Doom 2016 proves to be a successful video game despite all the controversy even with the satanic images in its soundtrack. The game is even being used as a benchmarking tool for the new video cards GTX 1080 and the GTX 1070 from NVIDIA who unveiled them a few days ago.
