APB Reloaded is has finally made its way onto the Xbox One platform without much fanfare as a quiet launch took place after several months of being delayed.
Developer Reloaded Games and publisher Ravenscourt has announced that the sandbox shooter is now available as a free to play title on the Xbox One. One catch is that players will need to have an Xbox Live Gold subscription in order to play the game.
The MMO has been anticipated by console players for a long time and the hype has definitely died down. However, the game can still pick up some steam because of its massive customization mechanics for the characters, cars and the players themselves.
Besides the Xbox Live Gold subscription, players can also spend real money in game for more customizability. The bundles that are available range from $5 up to an expensive $200, Polygon has learned.
Customizations can take on the form of a simple face tattoo, shades, car paint and more. Clothes could also be bought for players to express themselves through their avatar in game.
Players who are dedicated to play during the first 30 days of APB Reloaded on the Xbox One will receive a free Founders Pack, GameSpot reported. It would contain free things such as a new in-game car and a FireWorks Flare Launcher.
Playing for more than 10 hours would also let the players receive more customization items and an exclusive in-game title. The soft launch of the game is why it has been sneaked into the Xbox One.
APB Reloaded for the PlayStation 4 is also in development. A solid release date has not been confirmed yet but the developers said it will become available after the post-launch patch for the Xbox One.
The game allows players to drive, walk or run around a huge virtual city to shoot other players. It has been initially pitched as an MMO version of the Grand Theft Auto franchise which is popular for its own format.
APB Reloaded is now free to play on the Xbox One for those with Gold subscriptions. The PlayStation 4 launch could still be a month away.
