"Person of Interest" Season 5, episode 11 spoilers roundup
Michael Emerson, who plays Harold Finch, talked to TV Guide and revealed that his character will find a solution (after Root's death in the previous episode) that would be "terrible to him in his heart."
He added that when there is no other solution, one has to accept the "roughest-looking idea." There is no time for Finch and he has to do something.
Meanwhile, Root took a bullet for Finch in the last "Person of Interest" Season 5 episode and died.
Amy Acker, who played Root, talked to TVLine about her character and her journey in the show.
"I mean, that would be the way I would want to go. To me, she was never really afraid of dying. Throughout all of the storylines, especially between Root and Harold, she always made it clear that she knew he was the priority, that The Machine needed him and all of that. I'm glad that Harold made it. That makes me happy!" Acker said when asked about dying to save Finch.
However, Acker will be a part of the show as the voice of The Machine.
"Yes. Yes. It worked out that way. I was really sad and told everyone how much I was going to miss them, and then they were like, "Can you come back and do the voice on set...?" I was like, "I just gave everyone their goodbye!" We thought it would be advantageous for some of the bigger scenes to have me there, so in the next episode you'll see Harold talking to The Machine in the car, and I'm laying down [unseen] in the back seat of the car having this conversation," Acker revealed.
