It has been more than 10 years since Valve last released a version of the "Half Life" game series. Although, the video game company has not revealed anything about the release date of "Half Life 3," fans are optimistic that the long awaited sequel would finally come to reality by 2018.
According to Game N Guide, it was in 2004 when the second installment of the franchise was released to the gamers. With that said, fans are hoping that their long wait would come to an end in 2018, and that they are optimistic that Valve may finally unveil little details of "Half Life 3" during the Electronic Entertainment Expo 2016 (E3) this coming June 14 - June 16.
The same publication explained why fans are hopeful that "Half Life 3" is going to be released in 2018. The report cited that the reason behind the fans optimism is because 2018 would be the 20th year anniversary of the first installment of the franchise.
However, the publication also noted the possibility that the long awaited "Half Life 3" may not be developed after all, since the team behind the successful game franchise is slowly departing from Valve to venture on other opportunities.
Meanwhile, rumors has it that if "Half Life 3" would be released in 2018, the game is expected to be in Virtual Reality (VR) format. It was said that by 2018, the future of the gaming world would be under the VR technology. In addition, "Half Life 3" will likely be playable on PC and other next generation consoles, which will possibly be fully functional with the VR tech, Cross Map has learned.
As of the moment, Valve is mum about all speculations surrounding "Half Life 3." Despite of that, fans are eager to find out whether the gaming company would provide details of "Half Life 3" during the E3 event.
