Fan-made "Star Wars: Battlefront 3" remake, also dubbed "Galaxy in Turmoil," will finally be making its way to Steam despite its unofficial category. This is according to an announcement made by Frontwire, the developer of the game.

Frontwire Studios president Tony "Fergie" Romanelli said in a blog post that the video game company had just signed a distribution deal with Steam/Valve for the game. After a discussion between the developer and the company, Valve Video Game Company reportedly agreed to Ship "Galaxy in Turmoil" to millions of users for free.

In spite of the former concerns that the remake could not get released through Steam due to the use of the "Star Wars" IP, Frontwire maintained that Valve's decision of hosting the "Battlefront 3: Galaxy in Turmoil" was an authentication step for both the studio and the project. According to his blog post, Romanelli affirmed that the move would cement Frontwire's studio's reputation.

The title is an unofficial sequel to the "Star Wars: Battlefront" series, founded on Free Radical's "Battlefront 3," which was cancelled before its launch, PC Gamer reported. Die-hard fans did not relent after the termination, but decided to resurrect the project and remade "Battlefront 3" based on the existing work that had been completed before the cancellation of the official project.

Although Valve has approved the game, it has not yet received official permission from Disney. This, according to some gaming analysts, could lead to its shutdown just like many other remakes in the past.

Romanelli communicated through the post that he has not pursued any legal action so far. He also noted that both Frontwire and Valve's legal teams are not apprehensive about running into any legal disputes.

In the meantime, it has been revealed that "Battlefront 3: Galaxy in Turmoil" will feature a multi-player battle as well as multi-player modes. These will include "Conquest, Instant Action and ground-to-space combat."

Frontwire's president has also shared an image of "Battlefront 3's" page on Steam although the page itself has not gone live in the platform. The game's release date is also not yet clear up to now.
