ASUS has not yet shipped their Zenfone 3 Deluxe and a new rumor has popped up again this time saying that there will be a Snapdragon 821 SoC variant instead of just the 823.
It is unclear yet whether what version the SD821 variant will be shipping for. Earlier rumors of the Snapdragon 823 have claimed that they will be for the phones that will be rolled out to Asian countries and not for the International Zenfone 3 Deluxe versions.
The flagship phones from ASUS arriving in several weeks will reportedly feature the SD821 chips instead of the SD823. Both are excellent chipsets for Android smartphones but they do come with several differences between each other.
ASUS's Zenfone 3 Deluxe with the Snapdragon 821 SoC will be sporting a 2.3GHz clock speed while the SD820 version will only have 2.15GHz, GSMArena has learned. Both variants are expected to be available with up to 6GB in RAM, which could be the new standard for flagship smartphones in 2016.
The leaks come from a leaked photo of a promotional material for the phone spotted by GizmoChina. It also lists other specs and features such as up to 256GB internal storage, USB-C, 600Mbps 4G LTE and Adreno 530 GPU.
For the most part, the specs will stay the same across all Zenfone 3 Deluxe variants regardless of whether they will feature the SD820, SD821 or the SD823 chipsets. All variants will feature a 2.5D Gorilla Glass for the protection of the screen, AndroidPit reported.
The basic Zenfone 3 phone will have a 16MP camera for the rear and an 8MP PixelMaster camera for the front snapper. However, the higher end models will feature a 23MP camera and the same one for the front with an f/2.0 aperture and a 85-degree wide view angle.
ASUS will just have to clear up the confusion with the Snapdragon 821 and Snapdragon 823 chipsets for the Zenfone 3 Deluxe in their following announcements which are expected before the official roll out. The phones will be released first in the Asia Pacific region before it will be available for sale in Europe and the United States.
