"The Originals" Season 4 will start with a storyline involving Marcel (played by Charles Michael Davis) discovering that the Mikaelson siblings are still alive, prompting him to begin a new quest. The show's executive producer made some clarifications about the show.
Marcel will discover that the hated siblings are still alive and protected by Hayley (played by Phoebe Tonkin). This is the basic premise that will be the focus of "The Originals" Season 4.
In the previous season's finale, the main protagonist was mistaken in thinking that he successfully eradicated the Originals. He thought that he finally purged the vampires in the City of New Orleans.
Among the characters who were supposed to die because of Marcel's poison included Rebekah (played by Claire Holt), Freya (played by Riley Voelkel), Elijah (played by Daniel Gillies) and Kol (played by Nathaniel Buzolic).
The witch saved the vampire siblings in the last minute. This was achieved by sending the souls of the siblings to a different dimension and tethering their lives to Klaus (played by Joseph Morgan). It was intended for the hybrid to suffer an eternity in pain and immobile as a stake pierces his heart.
During "The Originals" Season 3's final episode, Hayley was seen escaping the city carrying the bodies of the Mikaelsons in a caravan. She was rescuing and protecting the bodies from Marcel long enough so that Freya will have time to figure out how to bring back their souls.
According to TV Line, the executive producer of the show, Michael Narducci, revealed that Marcel would soon discover that the Originals are still alive. Hayley would be targeted by Marcel because she knows where the vampires are hidden, and this will propel the new storyline.
As what Narducci pointed out, "There are a lot of rich, interesting things to play with moving forward. But the question is: Is this family permanently destroyed, and is Marcel going to be their enemy forever?"
According to TV Guide, Narducci revealed that "The Originals" Season 4 would be full with interesting new storylines, and both Marcel and Hayley will have challenging tasks ahead. Narducci also hinted that fans could expect that the Mikaelsons will soon be awoken in "The Originals" Season 4.
