During Microsoft's panel conference at the recently concluded E3 2016, the company officially revealed the fourth installment of the zombie-hacking slash game "Dead Rising." Since "Dead Rising 4" was announced to be released for Windows 10 and Xbox One, it seems that the faith of the game title will be similar to "Rise of the Tomb Raider" - to be a timed exclusive game for Microsoft platform.
According to Gear Nuke, "Dead Rising 4," which will be developed by Capcom and will be published in partnership with Microsoft, will be an exclusive game for Windows 10 for 90 days while Xbox One exclusive for one year. In addition, Microsoft was quoted as saying that the company is ecstatic to partner with Capcom again, just like when they launched "Dead Rising" as an exclusive game for Xbox 360 and "Dead Rising 3" for Xbox One.
However, since "Dead Rising 4" will just undergo timed exclusivity deal for Microsoft platforms, it is highly likely that the game may still be released for non-Microsoft platforms. With that said, there is a possibility that the game title will have its Steam release date around March or April, while PS4 gamers will be able to get hold of "Dead Rising 4" around Holiday 2017.
"Dead Rising 4" will feature Frank West as he goes back to his hometown, wherein he will take on zombies in a mall during Christmas season. Players will be able to fight zombies using available weapons such as minigun, a jeep that is able to launch zombies and a candy cane-firing crossbows.
On other news, "Dead Rising" based movie "Dead Rising: Endgame" will feature the return of investigative reporter Chase Carter (played by Jesse Metcalfe), Dread Central reported. Chase is set to return underground to stop a secret government conspiracy that will not only end the zombie epidemic but will also kill millions of civilians.
"Dead Rising: Endgame" will star Metcalfe, Dennis Haysbert, Keegan Connor Tracy, Jessica Harmon and Marie Avgeropoulos. The film is set to premiere on June 20, Monday.
