Xbox One S will reportedly be launched in August 2016 and Project Scorpio will be released in 2017.
The question arises: should you wait for Project Scorpio or purchase the Xbox One S?
During the E3 2016, the tech company Microsoft announced Xbox One S. In addition, the software company has confirmed Project Scorpio during the E3 event that is anticipated to revolutionize the gaming industry.
Xbox One S is a thinner version of the Xbox One. If reports are anything to by, the company will release the next-generation console pretty soon.
According to a CNET report, the software company will launch Xbox One S in August this year.
Project Scorpio is anticipated to be released during the holiday season of next year, according to a report from GameSpot. Reports also indicate that Project Scorpio will be extremely powerful in comparison to current ones.
The Xbox One S will have the same CPU and GPU as found on the Xbox One. However, it will have 2 TB of hard drive and will be 40% thinner. The console will support 4K streaming services and 4K Ultra-HD Blu-ray discs, with HDR (High Dynamic Range) support for both. Also, Xbox One S can be stood upright with a vertical stand.
The Kinect port is not available in the gaming console; however, compatibility is available through an external adapter for current users. It is important to note that the Xbox One S will not give games a performance boost.
The gaming console will cost about $399 for the 2 TB model and around $299 for the 500 GB model. With the Xbox One S, people will not get 4K gaming. The upgrades to the console may not attract several current Xbox One owners.
Phil Spencer, the head of Xbox Division, said that Project Scorpio will support virtual reality games. Todd Howard, Bethesda's creative director, has said that the virtual reality version of Fallout 4 will come to the new gaming console. It means that a virtual reality headset for the Project Scorpio will be developed in the upcoming few months.
The Xbox One S will not be a significant upgrade to the Xbox One. According to many reports, Project Scorpio will bring many new features to a gaming console, particularly virtual reality.
