Prior to "Game of Thrones" season 6 episode 9 "Battle of the Bastards" on June 19, Sunday, was episode 8's closing scene with Arya Stark and her former mentor Jaqen H'ghar. As much as the war between Jon Snow (Kit Harington) and Ramsay Bolton (Iwan Rheon) is currently in hot discussions with Bolton, Rickon Stark (Art Parkinson) and Wun Wun the Giant (Ian Whyte) among the casualties, Maisie Williams' character who just killed Waif (Faye Marsay) is not forgotten as well.
The younger Stark daughter went to the House of Black and White following Waif's defeat. She told him she is not "no one" but Arya Stark of Winterfell and that she is going home.
The Faceless Man stood there and seemed to have something in mind as he smiled while Stark reclaimed her name and left after paying her debt. H'ghar is portrayed by actor Tom Wlashchiha. When asked about the expression on his face, the actor said he just followed the script, having no interest of his own, he told Access Hollywood.
As for why H'ghar let Stark go is because training her is not to become a Faceless Man in Braavos' House of Black and White forever. He thinks the Faceless Men are interested in the happenings in Westeros.
"Otherwise why would he [have] just shown up out of the blue, in Season 2 and picked Arya and offered her to train her?" Wlashchiha told the entertainment news site. "So there must be some sort of interest and I think, yeah, what's the point of training her if she can't put that training to use?"
As assassins, the Faceless Men view death as just a part of life, not a tragedy. Stark's training could give her confidence since she left their house as a girl and will return as an adult. H'ghar was pleased that Stark managed to escape and kill the Waif because his student excelled.
Recently, the Arya Stark actress was in the headlines again, this time for wearing an alleged "non-original" Supreme T-shirt. She stepped into a boutique last week in Williamsburg, and the shop owner took a photo with her, which triggered a fiery discussion, Esquire reported.
