Martin's "Winds of Winter" will fascinate them even more. "Game of Thrones" must have really enjoyed the epic battle between Jon Snow and Ramsay Bolton in the episode that aired last on June 19, Sunday. With only one episode left in the series, whether the HBO fantasy epic fans should expect the same plot in Martin's 'Winds of Winter' is probably the biggest mystery left for the fans to discuss.

If "Winds of Winter" was already around the corner, there would have been no speculative tweets and posts getting viral over the internet questioning whether the character would have really done what they did on the show. For example, would Jamie have really raped Cersei next to Joffrey's corpse?

But that is not the case this time. Martin's creations are often intertwined between a complex world of religion, culture, families, geography and languages. This is what interests its readers the most who are completely absorbed in the world of his novels, The Telegraph stated.

This is probably the reason why the release of "Winds of Winter" has been delayed and the "Game of Thrones" fans have gotten almost a decade to enjoy "the Song of Ice and Fire" novels. In fact, the television adaptation of Martin's novels has now overcome the literature.

In the last episode, it was up to the showrunners David Benioff and DB Weiss to decide which character to kill during the battle - Ramsay Bolton or Jon Snow. Apart from them, the fate of some of the characters, including Tyrion Lanninster, has been in their hands. However, they did meet the author to ensure that the show's direction meets his ultimate vision.

No doubt, Benioff and Weiss have done an incredible job with the show, thanks to the complex characters provided by the eminent author. One of the segments of characters that have stood out throughout all seasons is women.

From Sansa Stark to Daenerys Targaryen, Oberyn Martell and her illegitimate daughters known as the Sand Shakes, the show has portrayed different complex characters, but sometimes in a disappointing way.

For example, the Sand Shakes - Tyene, Obara and Nymeria - were introduced as a trio with complete villain character. However, in the books, Sand Shakes are complex characters with individual personalities, motives and traits. They are more like people encountered in everyday life.

On the other hand, some of the characters that are central to the book are completely missing in the television adaptation. For example, the character of Arienne, who also happens to appear in the preview of the "Winds of Winter." Her character has been unrealistically adapted on screen.

At the end of the day, the "Game of Thrones" fans should prefer to read the books to get a complete knowledge of the character. For people who are the fan of the books, it is normal to complain about the series.

Meanwhile, there are six big questions that the "Game of Thrones" finale must answer, according to TIME. The season finale airs June 26, Sunday.
