"Naruto Shippuden" episode 466 titled "The Tumultuous Journey" did not air on June 23 after being pushed back to Thursday, June 30. However, episode 467 titled "Ashura's Determination" will still air on July 7 as scheduled.
Both episode 466 and 467 seem to focus on the successor of Ninshu, with the battle between Indra and Ashura, the ancestors of the Senju and Uchiha clans. Tension has been building up around the camp and although some anticipate that the talented and eldest Indra is best suited to succeed Ninshu, many others are betting for Ashura to become the next king.
In the previously episode, Indra and Ashura were in training to understand the Ninshu code and control chakra. The smarter Indra managed to acquire the skill of weaving signs and eventually created Jutsu.
A preview trailer of episode 466 is already out and it teases on what will transpire during the crowning of a new ruler. From the trailer, Hagoromo has a responsibility to name a successor for Ninshu between Indra and Ashura. Naturally, Indra stands a better chance since he has a natural gift for Ninshu.
However, the title of episode 467 - "Ashura's Determination" - may indicate that Indra may not have an easy take as the next ruler. Similarly, this week's episode 466 may turn out to be filler. As a result, fans may get a big reveal in episode 467.
While Indra has the best natural gift for Ninshu, it will not be an easy task to hand over the throne. In "Naruto Shippuden" episode 465, viewers saw the fight between Indra and Ashura, something that is similar to Naruto and Sasuke's fight in the original. The preview of episode 465 had shown the narration of Hagoromo teasing that during his reign Ninshu lacked a practical application for fighting.
Fans had not seen the characters of Indra and Ashura in the previous episodes, but now these two characters surface to fight it out. Those who have been reading the manga series are aware that the fight will not end well since it leads Indra and Ashura to their demise.
As the storyline continues, fans will discover that Ashura and Indra's chakras reawaken as Naruto and Sasuke. The reincarnation will be an interesting twist of events.
