Eminem fans have been sitting on the edge of their seats waiting for official news about the rapper's newest album, and it looks like there's another rumor to add on the list of Eminem rumors that fans have yet to clear out. According to more speculations, some say that the Detroit rapper may be remastering his award-winning song "Lose Yourself."
This song became famous for the lines, "His palms are sweaty, his knees weak, arms are heavy, there's vomit on his sweater already, Mom's spaghetti." This line became so catchy in 2002 that different people made different remixes, including the famous one by Hitchcock Bro Andy, a comedic remix titled, "Mom's Spaghetti."
This phrase became so famous that the Detroit-raised rapper used it to honor his mother, Deborah R. Nelson-Mathers, on Mother's Day by selling T-shirts with this phrase printed on it. On his website, Eminem wrote, "Show Mom you appreciate her in style this Mother's Day and pick up your 'Mom's' Spaghetti collab with Unfortunate Portrait."
The song "Lose Yourself" was initially released in Oct. 28, 2002 as part of the soundtrack for the 2002 film "8-Mile," starring Eminem himself, and shows a life of a rapper parallel to that of his life. Eminem's "Lose Yourself" won an Academy Award for Best Original song, making Eminem the first rapper to win an Academy and making "Lose Yourself" the first ever rap song to win the said award, according to the Morning Ledger.
"Lose Yourself," which was written by Eminem himself, and he produced it with Jeff Bass, someone he's collaborated with for years, also won a Grammy Award for Best Rap song, according to the Movie News Guide. This was the Eminem's first song to become the top song in the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States.
Again, much like anything else about Eminem at this point in time, the rumor of remastering the "Lose Yourself" track and renaming it "Mom's Spaghetti" after the famous meme remains just that - a rumor. A statement from Eminem confirming or debunking these rumors is yet to be seen on social media.
