The Houston Rockets have booked a meeting with free-agent power forward Al Horford on the very first day of free-agency, according to Michael Scotto of the Associated Press.

The Rockets, who have enough cap space to sign a max contract player, have set their sight on Horford, who is one of the most coveted big man in the free-agency pool.

Scotto reported the Rockets will be the first team to meet Horford before the big man entertains pitches from other teams, including the Los Angeles Lakers, Miami Heat, Boston Celtics and the Toronto Raptors.

"The Rockets have set up a meeting with free agent big man Al Horford for Friday, the first day of free agency, reports Michael Scotto of The Associated Press. It's not clear whether Houston will be the first team to sit down with Horford, or whether he has other July 1st meetings on his schedule," via Hoops Rumors.

The Rockets are also being linked to other big name free-agents such as Hassan Whiteside, Mike Conley and Ryan Anderson, but Horford reportedly emerges as their no.1 target this free-agency season.

Horford averaged 15.2 points and 7.2 rebounds last season for the Atlanta Hawks.
