The biggest mystery that dawned the most popular and most controversial franchises of all time, "GTA 5," has been deciphered by selected programmers, in order to excitingly conclude the saga where Bigfoot secretly entered the video game in September.
The game's developer, Rockstar North, planted the Bigfoot mystery in the Los Angeles map for "GTA 5" enthusiasts, or hard-core gamers like The Codewalkers, to work out deeper after finishing the main storyline.
As reported by IGN, hackers have deduced from the "GTA 5" source code the discovery of the golden peyote plant, which is a hallucinogenic herb that transforms the player into Bigfoot.
By trailing deeply on the complicated herb-hunting task, the players discovered seven different hidden peyote plants at specific in-game times in specific weather conditions: foggy or snomy. There is also a strict time schedule, specifically between 5:30 and 8:00AM, that should be observed on each "GTA 5" peyote plant in order to properly access the climactic monster waiting.
"Each and every patch, a dedicated team of code readers called The Codewalkers constantly check if something new was added into the [GTA 5] code," Louis C LeBlond, one of the key players involved in solving the mystery, told Kotaku in an interview.
LeBlond added that the team of game hunters "compare [databases] and [from there we got] clues about what was added or not. This is all very difficult because Rockstar are masters [at] hiding their code."
Besides the search for the complex coordinates of the golden peyote plant, the team also faced coded messages from the developers at RockStar., with one such message reading, "he was wrong to start his hunt on Tuesday."
After facing more coded messages from RockStar and through following the dead trails appearing whenever the avatar roars to receive a responding cue from the mythical Bigfoot, the team finally uncovered what was at the end of the plant hunt: a chase which ends in a secret epic fight against the Beast, a character which seemed to be a reference to Michael J Fox's Teen Wolf character. Once beaten, the Beast can then be used in the game's Director Mode.
