Adding more confusion to the mix, Xbox head Dave McCarthy now says that Xbox Scorpio exclusive games can exist and it will depend on the decision of the video game developers.
Microsoft has not completely cleared up how the Xbox Scorpio video game development will work with regards to exclusives and the framerate differences with the current Xbox One and the Xbox One S version. The actual physical product itself has not been revealed to the public yet but the Redmond-based tech giant did tease fans with a short 3D video of what it could look like.
The Xbox Scorpio and the PlayStation Neo will be going against each other with the Nintendo NX seemingly becoming just another wildcard in the console wars. Both of the consoles are claiming that they will be able to run 4K games without lagging or skipping some frames.
McCarthy said in an interview with GameSpot that titles exclusive for the Xbox Scorpio can still exist at launch and it would largely depend on the developers, Windows Report has learned. The company has previously announced that all Xbox Scorpio games will be backwards compatible as well for the current Xbox One console to blur the console boundaries.
Then again, Microsoft said that the framerates of a game running between the new console and the current ones will be just the same. That possibly means that the only difference would be the 4K resolution for the upgraded console considering that a game could run the same at 60 or even 30 frames per second on both consoles.
Microsoft did not want to clarify the situation regarding the framerates of the Xbox One and Xbox Scorpio for the games in the future, Forbes reported. People are now confused as to how the company will pull the console off when it finally launches.
4K gaming seems to be a large leap for some. Monitors and TVs that support the resolution are still quite expensive these days and it could be a problem for those wanting to upgrade to Microsoft's new console or the PlayStation Neo.
Microsoft's Xbox Scorpio claimed with six TFLOPs is expected to launch globally during the 2017 holiday season. The company would hopefully clarify the issues by then.
