WWE finds itself airing the RAW episode on the 4th of July meaning the creative team needs to come up with something special for the occasion. WWE heavyweight champion Dean Ambrose tangles with Intercontinental champion The Miz once again but the highlight of the evening could be the 16-man elimination match billed Team USA vs. Team World.
Ambrose goes up again with the Miz in what may be another ho-hum encounter. It is seen more as a way of holding up the fort until Roman Reigns returns. Seth Rollins could get involved seeing the “Architect” wants the belt back badly but such remains to be seen.
Aside from that, other matches include United States champion Rusev putting the belt on the line against Titus O’Neil once more. The two have been at it for quite some time now though it is unlikely that WWE fans will see a change of hands this Monday.
John Cena will be around and the all-American will likely target the Club (AJ Styles, Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows) to get some measure of payback according to Wrestlezone. But the interesting bill for the evening could be the 16-man match which will see Team USA tangle with Team World.
There is no official word yet on who would make up either team though the character origins and persona will likely hint at who goes where. The event is likely to be composed of mid-card wrestlers though some high profile names could be inserted in the mix.
Team USA will likely have WWE stars like Jack Swagger, Dolph Ziggler or maybe even Zach Ryder while Team World may be composed of The Lucha Dragons, Alberto Del Rio or Sheamus. Of the two sides, Team World will be a curious bunch since bad blood could in the mix.
A special highlight for the evening could be that part involving a former Smackdown general manager who will be on hand. It is likely that the mystery person will make a case to land the Smackdown job in time for the July 19 Smackdown show featuring the highly awaited WWE Brand Split according to Cageside Seats.
