Apple has yet to spill some information on the iPad Air 3 though the belief right now is that it may never come out at all. This is despite great anticipation that Apple could come out with the iPad Air successor either this September or March, 2017.
The chances of seeing the iPad Air 3 may have dilapidated as early as four months ago, about the time when the iPad Pro came out in the open. With a new tablet in the mix that fits in to the trending hybrid phenomenon, the iPad Pro may have just killed whatever hope was left of an iPad Air 3.
According to MacWorld UK, it may only be a matter of time before Apple officially cancels the Air series. Rumors tied up to the alleged development of the iPad Air 3 may be nothing more than leading people on.
For the record, the iPad Air 3 should have been out as early as October, 2015 but nothing materialized. That occurrence broke the usual cycle of Apple when it comes to the regular release of the Air tablet. For reference, the iPad Air 2 came out in October, 2014 while the first iPad Air debuted in October, 2013.
With the believed iPad Air 3 already delayed, Apple fans continue to wait and hope for the best. Many hoped to see the iPad Air 3 at WWDC 2016 but nothing came out. Now, many are once again waiting for September, the month when the iPhone 7 is expected to be released though even that is not certain.
The iPad Pro is Apple’s ticket into the growing world of hybrids. Microsoft started the trend with their Surface Pro series and now even Google has gotten into the act with the Pixel C according to CNet.
With the shift of consumers to these niches, the imminent demise of the iPad Air 3 seems forthcoming. But until Apple makes it official, expect a lot of people to wait for the third installment of the lightweight tablet.
Despite the uncertainty in the air, here is a video showing what people want to see from the iPad Air 3 in the event that one does come out.
