JYJ band member Park Yoochun has started to fight back on allegations that he sexually assaulted several women. The Korean singer has filed a legal suit against the second woman who claimed that he raped her.
Park Yoochun and his legal representative have filed a countersuit against one of the women involved in the singer's sexual assault case. The Seoul police shared the details of the JYJ band member's counterclaim to sue the woman over her false accusations on Monday, July 4, according to Yonhap News. The countersuit was filed in Southern Seoul's Gangnam Police Station, the police team tasked with handling the Korean singer's case.
The singer and actor's sexual assault scandal started in June when a complaint was filed that claimed Park Yoochun sexually harassed a woman. The said woman already dropped her case against the Korean star. In turn, the JYJ singer filed a legal suit against the said accuser. However, several women, who all reportedly worked in bars, has lodged sexual assault complaints against the singer.
The police are currently investigating Park Yoochun's case and has even formed a special taskforce to handle the rape allegations. The singer already appeared in front of the investigation team to answer questions about the case, according to the same report. The police interview was said to have transpired on Saturday, July 2, and Sunday, July 3. Police officials are also expecting to conduct several follow-up interviews with Park Yoochun.
In other news, two other Korean stars were linked to Park Yoochun's sexual assault case. Previous reports mentioned that Park Bo Gum and "Descendants of the Sun" actor Song Joong Ki were both with the JYJ singer when one of the alleged sexual assaults occurred in early June. However, the two actors' agency has already denied the news, Soompi reported.
Entertainment agency UAA clarified that the said news were only rumors. The agency explained that both Song Joong Ki and Park Bo Gum were attending the Baeksang Arts Awards during the said date. After the awards ceremony, the two stars then joined a dinner after-party. Pictures of both actors were also captured by several news outlets during the celebration.
